John’s interest in lighting, optical effects and glass lenses grew out of his earlier  working life as an electrician and lighting technician for the Frankston Theatre Group. 

Following a successful 28 year career  as the  Head of Lighting at  GTV 9 Melbourne, he became  a manufacturer of exterior lighting products.  The move to Swan Hill in 1991 provided an opportunity to commence part-time study in glass slumping and fusing at the Cold Glass Workshop in Melbourne.  

After eighteen years working with the medium of glass his interest has developed considerably and he is now pursuing sculptural options having recently purchased a 5m x 2.4 m kiln to produce dimensional glass pieces and textured glass panels.
